With a background in education, she has been committed to teaching South Asian ethnic minority youths for over a decade.

Arfeen was also recognised on the Diversity List: 2020. She is currently a doctoral candidate in the Faculty of Education at The University of Hong Kong.

Dr. Aron Harilela is the Chairman and CEO of Harilela Hotels Limited. Established in 1959, the Company owns and operates hotels across Hong Kong, Asia, Europe and USA. They recently started its own brand, The Hari London in 2016 and The Hari Hong Kong in 2020.

Aron was awarded Bronze Bauhinia Star (BBS) in 2019 and was appointed as a Justice of Peace in 2014.

Aron graduated with an honours Bachelor degree in Law and Politics, and a PhD in Political Philosophy from University of Hull, England.

Caspar Tsui became a Politically Appointed Official when he assumed the post of Political Assistant to Secretary for Home Affairs in June 2008. Before taking up the current post, he was Under Secretary for Labour and Welfare from August 2017.

He has worked for various financial institutions in Canada and Hong Kong before he joined the Government.

He holds a Bachelor Degree in Economic, Public Policy and Public Administration from the University of Ottawa and a Master Degree in Business Administration from the University of Manchester.

Catherine is a former Allen & Overy Partner, who worked in their London and Hong Kong offices for over 20 years and was heavily involved in their social responsibility activities.

She now works on a voluntary basis for a number of NGOs and is Head of Pro Bono and Community Investment for Allen & Overy in Hong Kong. Her projects include supporting migrant workers' rights and helping those who face discrimination or are disadvantaged due to their socio-economic situation.

Clement Lai, Founder and CEO of Clement Shield Group established the organisationin 2015 on the principles of modernising and revolutionising the security industry.

With 22 years of extensive experience with the Elite Units of the Hong Kong Police Force, he has createda positive impact in the industry by rendering world-class services based on his expertise.

Clarissa Lui is a fresh graduate with a creative mind and a penchant for graphic design and digital media. She attained her Bachelor of Social Sciences in Global Communication with First Class Honours from CUHK, completing an independent study on the paradigm of inclusivity as experienced by young, Indian Hongkongers presently.

She believes that an open mind, constant awareness and acts of advocacy are key to creating the change we want, especially within our own circles.

Danish joined HSBC in 2005 and has worked in the Philippines, Brazil, U.S.A., Mexico and Hong Kong. His experience in corporate banking includes Risk, Global Trade and Receivables Finance and leading front line relationship teams. In his current role his teams focus on subsidiaries of large multinationals in Hong Kong and the APAC region.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Danish is passionate about Diversity and Inclusion. He is Co-Chair of HSBC Hong Kong’s ethnic minority focused Employee Resource Group.

Don Taylor is Director and Global Head of Swire Properties’ Office Portfolio. Swire Properties is a leading developer, owner and operator of mixed-use properties in the Hong Kong SAR and the Chinese Mainland, with a record of creating long-term value by transforming urban areas.

He is also Chairman for the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation (HKYAF), a charity that provides access to high quality, non-competitive free-of-charge arts experiences for all young people aged 5 to 25.

Fathima Faleela is currently doing her Bachelor’s in Chemical and Environmental Engineering at HKUST as a final year student. She is ethnically Indian and raised in Hong Kong.

Ethnic Minorities oftentimes get stereotyped and concentrated in a very limited number of fields, such as education and F&B. She aims to step forward and break this stereotype by contributing in the STEM field. She hopes to be a role model for her community to educate themselves and move towards their goals and aspirations.

Gurmel Singh started his career as an assistant research scholar in Sikh history at the Golden Temple in Amritsar. He worked as a Religion Teacher and Manager of the Khalsa Diwan (Sikh Temple) Hong Kong and as a full-time Hindi and Punjabi interpreter in Immigration Department.

Recently he was nominated by the Government of Hong Kong for a community service award. He was featured in the books "500 Sikh role models" and "Dear Hong Kong." Gurmel was appointed to Committee on Personalized Vehicle Registration Marks (PVRMs) Vetting Committee in 2020 by Hong Kong Government.

An academic director with thirty years’ experience in postsecondary, career and corporate education, Huseina designs curriculum and authors content, teaches, facilitates training and mentors. She has worked in learning contexts in Hong Kong and China, South East and South Asia, the Middle East and North America.

From a family that has been in Hong Kong 120 years, Huseina speaks Cantonese. She is a past president of HKABPW and a member of the Diversity List.

Jafar Amin is Executive Vice President and the Regional President and Head of Corporate & Investment Banking, Asia Pacific.

He is responsible for the overall strategy and execution for APAC and has regional responsibility for all businesses that operate in the region: Corporate & Investment Banking, Distribution Finance, Global Receivables & Trade Finance, and Asset Management.

Karma is an Architect, Director and Group Leader of Arup. He has a keen interest in all typologies of Architecture, in particular infrastructure development projects which has a societal connotation and importance. In particular Metro Station design, of which he is presently leading stations design and due diligence reviews in Hong Kong, Macau, New Zealand, Thailand, China, etc.

Karma plays an active role in Arup’s action on climate change, probono design projects that addresses the needs of our marginalised society, etc.

Kay is from Admiralty Chambers and was called to the Hong Kong Bar in 2008. Kay was nominated as one of the finalists for the International Bar Association Outstanding Young Lawyer Award in 2018 and was appointed as fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers in 2020.

Kay practises in both civil and criminal law specialising in handling complex multidisciplinary issues. Kay provides pro bono legal services with particular focuses on anti human trafficking, labour rights and discrimination issues.

Mark Blackshaw is Principal at ESF King George V (KGV) School, a diverse secondary school with over 1850 students. Previously, Mark was Executive Principal in Australia, spending 27 years in various teaching and leadership roles in public education.

Recently, he has been collaboratively leading the ESF KGV Learning Community in a journey towards the school’s vision for all people to feel a deep sense of belonging, identity, and purpose. He has found this process of cultural renovation, anexciting and challenging personal and organisational learning journey.

Meko NG is an assistant supervisor of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals CEASE Crisis Centre, which is a centre supporting the survivors of sexual violence, domestic violence and elder abuse. She has worked in there for over 13 years.

Since last year, she started to supervise a team which supports ethnic minorities community, in terms of community education on domestic violence and sexual violence. Her team's intention on serving ethnic minorities in empowering perspective, humanistic attitude and creative way.

Moira Toledo is a current IB (International Baccalaureate) student in her second year from Delia Memorial School, Glee Path. Currently a Visual Arts and English Literature student, she strives to excel in the Arts in the future as a teacher.

She is an outspoken advocate in the conversation of mental health of the youth, especially for ethnic minorities, in Hong Kong. She believes in the power of empowering the youth, no matter ethnic background, sexuality, gender and privilege.

Phyllis Cheung is the Executive Director of Hong Kong Unison, a local NGO that upholds racial equality and the rights of ethnic minorities of Hong Kong. She leads Unison to lobby for inclusive and equitable education opportunities for ethnic minority children.

She is concerned about the lack of a Chinese-as-a-second-language curriculum and the teaching of Chinese to ethnic minorities. Phyllis has extensive experience working with grassroots and diverse communities in Hong Kong, South and Southeast Asia and Africa.

Puja Kapai is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law and Convenor of the Women’s Studies Research Centre at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). Specialising in international human rights, minority rights, and intersectional legal studies, her research has influenced policies to address racial inequality and violence against women. She has advocated for racial equality before the United Nations, LegCo and government officials.

Puja received the International Women of Courage Award 2015, HKU’s Knowledge Exchange Award 2017 and American Chamber of Commerce’s Professional Woman of the Year Award 2019.

Puja works has garnered international recognition and she has been awarded the 2021 Global Pluralism Award in recognition of her contributions to advancing pluralism, inclusion and equality of access and enjoyment of human rights for all.

Ricky Kwan, PhD, is currently Assistant Professor in the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences at City University of Hong Kong. He received his PhD from The University of Hong Kong and served as Assistant Director of The Hong Kong Down Syndrome Association.

He is a registered social worker with a professional background in mental health and counselling. His research interests lie primarily in the fields of mental health, workplace inclusion and mezzo-level social work practice

Dr. Rizwan Ullah was born and raised in Hong Kong. He was schooled through the local education system and completed his PhD from the University of Hong Kong. Rizwan has over 15 years of experience in teaching and addressing the education needs of Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) in Hong Kong and he works as a Vice Principal in a secondary school.

He seats on various high-level government advisory boards and commission. Recently, he was awarded a Medal of Honor for his contribution towards Youth Development Work in Hong Kong.

Shilpa Patwardhan is a Lead Counsellor at The Zubin Foundation. With an experience of over 15 years, she has helped individuals with mental health issues including depression, anxiety disorders, psychosis, adjustment disorders, career and work-related stress, substance abuse - addictions, relationship issues, variety of sexual problems and marital issues.

She is a medical professional from India. She also completed Primary and Advanced Certificate Training in the Principles and Practice of Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy, from Albert Ellis Institute, New York.

A psychologist by profession turned Sanyasini, storyteller, author and teacher, Swamini Supriyananda left the world of the inner workings of the mind for that beyond the mind. Of Indian origin, born in South Africa and raised in Australia she currently resides in Hong Kong, spreading the vision and sharing the knowledge of Vedanta.

Inspired by Swami Chinmayananda's teachings she understood this ancient wisdom's adaptability to solve modern problems. She also has a bite size podcast called 'Thinking about it' and an instagram account inspiration

Syed Agha arrived in Hong Kong from India for 14 years ago as a tourist, and decided to stay and build a life as a migrant worker. He sees Hong Kong as home and is determined to make it equal and fair in its treatment of all those who call it so.

Syed supports and volunteers with local non-profits to improve the social, economic and mental welfare of people from all walks of life in Hong Kong.

Victoria Wisniewski Otero founded Resolve in 2017 with one question in mind: in an age of increasing polarization and intolerance, how can we build more inclusive and accepting societies? Resolve’s mission is to inspire, empower and connect emerging community leaders for inclusive social change in Hong Kong.

Being herself raised in a bilingual, bi-cultural household, and having lived in places from Nicaragua to Kuwait, Spain to Hong Kong, her philosophy is that there is strength in diversity. She has also worked at Justice Centre Hong Kong, the Center for Economic and Social Rights (CESR) and UN HABITAT.

In 2020, Victoria became part of Voice for Social Good, an NGO Taskforce of Women Leaders in response to COVID 19.

Dr. Cunanan joined the College of International Education at the Hong Kong Baptist University in 2001. She is Associate Programme Director for the Division of Arts and Languages at CIE.

Before joining HKBU, she taught at her alma mater, Diocesan Girls’ School. Her doctorate research was in the study of the segregation of ethnic minorities students in Hong Kong. When not teaching, her community services include contributing to the Human Resources Planning Commission and the Equal Opportunities Commission.

Wei Na is a counsel in Mayer Brown's Hong Kong office. She specialises in investigations, litigation and regulatory enforcement work with particular focus on the financial services industry. Prior to moving to Hong Kong, Wei Na practised as an advocate and solicitor in Singapore where she was first called to the bar.

Wei Na is a pro bono ambassador within Mayer Brown and has worked with NGOs, ethnic minority and refugee clients on employment and education access issues in Hong Kong.
