At the conference, we continued our sustainability practices to avoid waste and harm to our environment. Here are some of the ways in which we stayed true to our goals.
Our commitment to the environment:
-
No single-use backdrops and very limited paper signage at the event.
-
No notepads. We requested all attendees bring their own notebooks.
-
No plastic bottles of water.
-
Limited glasses of water at the hotel because we want to reduce the water needed to clean them. Guests brought their refillable water bottles.
Our commitment to including women:
-
No ‘manel’ – the male-only panel.
Our commitment to multi-stakeholder engagement:
-
We would like to hear diverse voices – from NGOs, schools, companies, and individuals. We tried to include these varied voices.
